West Crewkerne Parish Council has a vacancy for the post of Parish Clerk/RFO
West Crewkerne is seeking to recruit a new part time Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer.
The Clerk is required to attend and produce minutes of all Council meetings and Annual Parish Meetings. He/she is responsible for the day to day administration of the Council, manage the Council’s finances, In accordance with Government Accounting Regulations.
The position is home based, working hours are flexible, approximately 10 hours a month, but will require a commitment to attend the bi-monthly evening council meetings (January, March, May, July September and November), usually held on the second Tuesday in the month starting at 7.00pm in Clapton and Wayford Village Hall. Currently the bi-meetings are held on the fourth Thursday in the month in the main room at Clapton and Wayford Village Hall so that social distancing can be maximised.
The Clerk needs to be an effective communicator, and be able to manage the Councils finances.
The pay scale will be LCI 7-12 (currently £10.44 to £11.53). depend on experience and qualifications. Previous experience as a parish clerk would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given. A laptop will be provided along with printer if required.
